Making production secure – protecting our production facilities from cybercrime

IT-Security Expert

The steel industry is a crucial part of our economy, as it produces key raw materials for the construction and manufacturing industries. Any cyber attacks on production facilities can make for inflated costs and production outages and, in the worst-case scenario, pose a risk to life and limb.

It is therefore essential for the steel industry to invest in IT security to protect itself and ensure uninterrupted, safe and secure production operations.

A particular challenge in this context lies in the fact that facilities with lifespans of several decades also need to be secured against cybercrime. It is frequently the case, for example, that the infrastructure of such facilities cannot be updated to the latest patch status, thus necessitating special security concepts to protect those facilities against cyber attacks. Existing security concepts are considered from the outset in the construction of our new facilities.

The growing threat of cybercrime attacks commits us to continuously refining our security concepts and implementing these ongoing developments across all our plants and facilities.

Join our team and help shape and design the IT security of tomorrow – with close involvement in our production and its unique aspects!
