Production

Producing approximately 15 million metric tons of crude steel a year, ThyssenKrupp Steel is one of Europe’s leading flat steel producers. The main production sites are located favorably in Duisburg directly on the Rhine.

ThyssenKrupp produces 14 million tons of hot-rolled coil per year. The Duisburg-Süd Heavy Plate Center produces around 1 million tons of plate per year on various production facilities. Specialties include N-A-XTRA® and XABO® water-quenched plates for highly stressed structures such as mobile cranes, and XAR® wear-resistant structural steels for construction machinery, which have been produced in Duisburg since the early 1960s.
