Organic coated strip and sheet

With the products of our age becoming more and more differentiated, the demands on steel are growing. Starting materials are needed whose properties are precisely tailored to their respective use. Our range of organic coated flat products fits the bill perfectly, opening up new opportunities for you as a manufacturer thanks to its systematic focus on applications.

Organic coated strip and sheet are truly multi-talented materials. They are used in the construction industry, in home appliances, automobiles, heating and air-conditioning equipment, telectronics equipment and furniture. This variety of uses is a result of three key material properties – strength, good formability and flexible surface design. ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe’s broad range of organic coated products are available as coil, sheet or cut to size to meet all conceivable requirements.

As a leading manufacturer of organic coated sheet we provide our customers with material solutions which also meet demanding cost requirements. In numerous sectors, the use of pre-painted steel offers significant economic advantages by eliminating the need for expensive post-painting. We provide competent design and production advice to enable you to optimally exploit the potential of our materials.

Our steadily growing portfolio of PLADUR® products meets a broad range of applications: from walls with anti-graffiti coatings, to the “Reflections” color range for industrial and commercial buildings, to new metallic coatings for the home appliance industry. But the possibilities of coil coating are far from exhausted. We would be pleased to inform you about individual design possibilities.

BONDAL® vibration-damping composite

BONDAL® vibration-damping composite
BONDAL® vibration-damping composite

BONDAL® is a vibration-damping composite material consisting of two steel face sheets and a viscoelastic polymer core which offers high damping of structure-borne and air-borne sound.

BONDAL® is particularly effective wherever steel parts are set in vibration and the vibrations are transferred to the structure as structure-borne sound waves. A large number of new product variants are available to permit tailored solutions, especially in the car body area.

Delivery forms Strip, sheet, slit strip
Dimensions

Strip
Outer sheet (nominal thickness): 0.4–1.25 mm

Width: 600–1,500 mm (depending on steel grade, thickness and surface of face sheet)

Composite strip cross sections up to 3,000 mm2 possible.

Width values apply to trimmed composite strip and steels with yield strengths ≥ 180 MPa (otherwise width reductions).

Symmetrical and asymmetrical thickness structure possible from 0.80–2.50 mm.

Half-BONDAL® (face sheet/polymer core/strippable film) also available as a special.

Slit strip dimensions
Thickness: 0.40–1.25 mm, width: 50–600 mm

Sheet dimensions
Thickness: 0.40–1.25 mm, width: 50–1,500 mm, sheet length: 750–4,000 mm

Sheet grades

All sheet grades according to ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG product range. The two face sheets may be made of the same or different materials.

Surfaces

  • Cold-rolled sheet
  • Electrolytically galvanized sheet
  • Hot-dip coated sheet (hot-dip galvanized, Galvannealed, GALFAN®, GALVALUME®, hot-dip aluminized fal)
  • Organic coatings (e.g. electrocoating substitute)

Experience gathered to date for the proven BONDAL® N, M and H types have led to the development of new BONDAL® products with frequency- and temperature-optimized damping properties especially for automotive applications: BONDAL® CB for use in the body, BONDAL® CPT for engines and transmissions and BONDAL® CS for disk brake pad support plates.
