Career
Dr. Jost A. Massenberg, born in Essen on May 13, 1956, completed an apprenticeship as industrial manager and business assistant at August Thyssen-Hütte AG, Duisburg, before studying business administration at Munich University, graduating in 1983, and gaining a doctorate at Kiel University in 1986.
Dr. Massenberg began his career as assistant to the board of Otto Wolff AG, Cologne, and then worked for four years as project manager and member of the management board of consultants Roland Berger & Partner GmbH, Munich. In 1991, Dr. Massenberg became a director of tinplate manufacturer Rasselstein AG/Rasselstein Hoesch GmbH, Andernach, responsible for sales and marketing.
In 1998, Dr. Massenberg was appointed Executive Board Member Sales of ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG. From October 1, 2005 he was responsible for the Industry Division on the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG. Effective October 1, 2009, Dr. Jost A. Massenberg is Member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG responsible for Sales.
