
Dr. Ulrich W. Jaroni, Member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, responsible for portfolio optimization projects.
Dr. Ulrich W. Jaroni, born in Dorsten/Westphalia on May 11, 1951, completed his training as a draftsman before studying nuclear engineering in Essen and mechanical engineering/energy technology at the Technical University of Aachen.
After gaining a doctorate in 1985 and working in a number of positions at universities, research institutes and in industry, the father of two joined the Thyssen group in 1990 as plant manager with Thyssen Industrie AG Umformtechnik, Augsburg plant. After moving to the tailored products division of Thyssen Stahl AG in 1992, Jaroni became managing director of Thyssen Fügetechnik GmbH, Duisburg in 1996. In 1999 he joined the management board of Thyssen Fügetechnik Nord GmbH in Wolfsburg and was appointed a member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG on April 1, 2002.
In this function he headed the Auto division of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG from January 1, 2003 and the Auto business unit from October 1, 2005. From October 1, 2009 he was responsible for production on the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, and from October 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011 for the metallurgy directorate. Since January 1, 2012 Dr. Ulrich Jaroni has been Executive Board member responsible for portfolio optimization projects.
