Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut, Member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, responsible for Metallurgy.

Career

Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut, born February 14, 1956, joined the flat steel production unit of Thyssen Stahl AG as a management trainee in 1988 after gaining his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) at RWTH Aachen University. In 1989 he became plant manager and over the course of his career held other responsible positions in the company, among other things as plant director and director. From October 1, 2005 to December 31, 2007 Dr. Eichelkraut was head of the production directorate for the Duisburg-Süd, Duisburg-Bruckhausen, Finnentrop and electrical steel Bochum plants of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG.

On January 1, 2008 Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut became Chief Technical Officer at Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH, in which ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe has a 50 percent shareholding. Effective May 1, 2011 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer at ThyssenKrupp CSA Siderùrgica do Atlântico in Brazil.

Since January 1, 2012 Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut has been a Member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, where he is responsible for Metallurgy.
