ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe has created a unique site configuration in Europe by focusing its iron and steelmaking and most of its hot strip production in Duisburg on the Rhine. This is supported by high-performance cold rolling and coating operations.
ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe sees itself as a reliable partner to its globally active customers, for example in the automobile, packaging and electrical industries. To be able to offer these customers products and services of consistently high quality in the vicinity of their production sites, ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe is pursuing a targeted internationalization strategy in downstream activities with high value added.
Examples include hot-dip coating lines and production facilities for tailored blanks. Measures are concentrated on attractive target markets. ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe also supplies starting material to the national and international steel service centers in the Materials Services business area of the ThyssenKrupp Group.
International ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe collaborations include the Tagal joint venture in China with a local partner and the cooperation agreement entered into in 2002 with the Japanese JFE Group (International strategic network focused on the automobile industry).
With production facilities and joint ventures in Germany, Italy, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Turkey, the USA, Mexico and China, ThyssenKrupp Tailored Blanks is also an international, customer-centric subsidiary and one of the world’s leading suppliers of tailored blanks made of steel.
