Supplier management

In order to ensure and optimize the quality of the products supplied to and services performed for ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, we regularly complete strategic assessments of our suppliers and service providers.

The assessment process measures the performance of our suppliers and service providers in the categories of purchasing, quality, logistics and technology on the basis of standardized Group criteria and is carried out by an assessment team. The individual results are added together to produce an overall result for each supplier/service provider, on the basis of which the supplier/service provider is assigned to one of the four performance levels:

  • A/Preferred – supplier/service provider: 90 to 100 points
  • B/Accepted – supplier/service provider: 80 to 89 points
  • C/Restricted – supplier/service provider: 60 to 79 points
  • D/Unacceptable – supplier/service provider: under 60 points

As a registered supplier/service provider you will be able to view your ratings on the ThyssenKrupp supplier and RFQ portal once we have assessed you under our supplier management program and approved the results. Our assessment process is aimed at actively helping our suppliers and service providers to learn more about their strengths and weaknesses, thereby enabling them to improve. This optimizes cooperation with ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG.
