Purchasing

The ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG Purchasing department procures capital goods, spare parts, plant equipment, industrial services and supplies for ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe, Eisenbahn und Häfen, ThyssenKrupp Tailored Blanks Duisburg and Kokereibetriebsgesellschaft Schwelgern. Purchasing maintains a spare part inventory in central warehouses at the Bochum, Dortmund and Duisburg sites to enable prompt restoration of operational readiness in the event of disruptions. The Duisburg central warehouse delivers supplies to the ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe locations and various subsidiaries.

Logistics

The Logistics department pools and realizes ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG’s logistics services needs. The focus here is on contract logistics for the supply chain to customers, for internal and inter-plant transits as well as the scheduling and coordination of logistics services performed by internal and external providers. The department advises on customs handling, transport insurance and the transportation of hazardous goods, and handles service provider accounting for logistics services in line with requirements.
Targeted logistics controlling is realized on the basis of the accounting systems.
